Job Description:

SUMMARY:
The Japan Compliance Manager of Program Management is a core member of the Japan HCC team, reporting
directly to the Senior Manager of Program Management. The role is responsible for implementing HCC
compliance programs business needs and compliance standards in Japan. The incumbent delivers business
process improvement, ameliorate efficiency and effectiveness of the HCC programs, whilst supporting
successful change management implementation. The role will be also engaged in identifying new focus areas
and contributing to the implementation of changes, working closely with Region Program team as well as
Japan HCC Business Partnering team, to mitigate compliance risk and align with priority business areas.

• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills.
• Experience in leading projects in one or more compliance areas e.g., HCC, FCPA, Finance, Quality,
Regulatory.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple, critical projects simultaneously.
• Ability to influence, negotiate and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Highly self-motivated, strong agility and resilience.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaboration with HCC team members, across groups in MT Japan including Vision and Heart
recovery Business, to scope, design, initiate and implement operation projects.
• Leads and executes compliance program operation of MT Japan including Vision and Heart recovery
Business. Assists the MT Japan HCCO with the senior manager to develop effective project portfolio
management structure, promoting necessary changes, process harmonization and leveraging
experiences across region/globe.
• Shares best practice within HCC to develop and implement consistent controls in Japan, where
necessary.
• Supports the development of harmonized standard processes applicable in Japan, where necessary.
• Represents MT Japan HCC including Vision and Heart recovery Business on assigned project teams to
harmonize, standardize and streamline HCC processes and systems.
• Seeks opportunities for new solutions through innovative approaches, identified through internal and
external network.
• Other duties may be assigned by Senior Manager of Program Management.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years business, legal and/or compliance-related experience; preferred in the
pharmaceutical and/or medical device industries; Supervisory experience preferred
• Cross-functional and/or cross-sector experience preferred
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry standards for Japan, as well as the FCPA

• Breadth of experience in all areas of: (1) compliance and regulation; (2) devising and implementing
standard operating procedures; (3) auditing, testing and monitoring; and (4) training.

• Manages conflicts in an open and constructive manner.
• Experience in the people development and management would be an advantage.
• Strong drive for results and solution orientated.
• Fluent in Japanese and English (reading, writing, verbal).
