Job Description:

FP& A team is an integral part of the Finance department, serving senior leaders’ (CEO/CFO) needs through financial reporting and analysis. FP& A team oversees total company performance, orchestrates company-wide financial initiatives such as business planning & resource allocation, lead Finance-wide initiatives (SigniFi), and provides support for decision-making to management through BVA, risk and opportunity identification and management. In addition to the day-to-day FP& A tasks, this Senior FP& A Manager will also be responsible for and engage in business partnering for one Business Unit and all non-commercial functions. This role requires a close collaboration across the organization and works closely with regional office to achieve these objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Business Planning (JU/NU/BP) and Quarterly Forecasts (Latest Thinking) processes

  • Designs overall processes in collaboration with cross functional team
  • Identifies, communicates, and drives actions for risks and opportunities with the management in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Framing and development of presentation package to be reviewed with management and region

Drive company to achieve Business Plan goals through timely reporting and analysis

  • Reports and provides commentaries for variances in P& L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow and other key metrics through BVA analysis
  • Proactively identifies risks and opportunities and proposes action plans
  • Provides a forward-looking view of the business to proactively manage business challenges and risks
  • Performs or leads ad-hoc requests and analysis for senior management (CEO/CFO)

Business Partnering (Scope subject to change)

  • Works closely with BU Leader & Functional Leaders and manages the financial planning, reporting and analysis for the business unit.
  • Deeply understands the business and, with strong commercial acumen, co-develops business objectives and priorities of the business units, monitors performance and articulates strategies and execution priorities.
  • Supports non-BU functions & departments and provide financial counsel and guidance for strategic decision.

Process set up and Improvement (including SigniFi, CFIN, aCrew)

  • Identifies and implements the Bes-in-Class practices to help drive operational efficiencies in JPKK financial processes
  • Critically reviews all internal processes and standard procedures and drive continuous improvements and alignment (cross sector & cross country)
  • Leads the development of consistent processes across BUs & Functions and drives collaboration and change within and outside own organization and across different tiers

Talent Development

  • 2~3 direct report responsibilities and will take a part in Japan Finance Controller Council
  • Develops talent pipeline, provide management and direction for team members through developmental guidance and performance evaluation and ensuring team effectiveness and efficient performance

Compliance

  • Support compliance with Japan legislations and company regulations, policies and procedures with the highest standards of financial integrity
  • Collaborate with compliance team to ensure key controls are in place and monitoring of controls to minimize risk

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting/business or equivalent, higher Accounting/Business Economics related education at Master level or JCPA, USCPA, CMA preferable
  • 5+ years relevant work experience
  • Business level English skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Work experience at global environment, with regional & global team and/or in mixed cultures
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence personnel across functions and levels
