What you will do: The Manager, Legal and Compliance Strategy and Practice Operations EMEA Region will actively participate in the development and implementation of best in class processes and procedures, as well as play an important role in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities. This role will be required to own or participate in many projects with executive level visibility, with a specific focus on ensuring Legal and Compliance intiatives are supported in the EMEA Region. Candidates must be self-starters who demonstrate the internal drive necessary to drive initiatives across the region.
In addition to the global Legal and Compliance function, with members in 50 different countries, this role will liaise directly with Finance, Audit, Technology, as well as the S& O Leadership Teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Leadership to translate Legal & Compliance strategies and goals into programmatic priorities and plans, with a particular focus on EMEA and APAC.
- Define and operationalize region adoption of KLC strategy including processes, tools and ways of working.
- Create, maintain, and enhance strong client relationships across various levels of the organization, including external KLC service providers.
- Lead Legal Practice Operations support initiatives for the regions attended, including roll out of new processes and technology, driving change management needs.
- Supervising internal/external resources.
- Understand current challenges and near term needs to identify opportunities to eliminate inefficienies, implement automation and enable the team to work on high value tasks.
- Collaborate with internal and external subject matter / content experts, business partners and vendors to create and design department best practices, processes and guidelines using a global mindset.
- Lead with a business centric mindset.
- Drive adoption of technology and AI consistently evaluating new opportunities to foster innovation.
What we are looking for: Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Legal.
- 10 years of work experience required in the legal industry such as a law firm, corporate legal department or legal consulting practice.
- 3 years in a legal operations role, preferably with experience establishing legal operations in a region/organization.
- Managerial experience, preferably in a global matrix organization.
- Proven success operating in global, matrix environment with numerous cross functional business partners.
- Must have excellent presentation skills, ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely, and the ability to respectfully question and/or challenge others to think through problems, improvement opportunities, solutions, and plans.
- Must have excellent influence and teaming skills to partner at all levels including: VPs, senior business leaders, global colleagues, external vendors, etc.
- Proven ability to examine issues, make appropriate decisions and ensure prompt actions.
- Understanding of accounting principles (such as accruals, quarterly close process, SOX), managing budgets and facilitating required reporting.
- Experience with technology used in a Corporate legal department including but not limited to: Matter and Case Management, Global eBilling, eSourcing, Power Apps, Sharepoint, CoPilot, Writer.
- Project management experience a plus.
- Proficiency in English language.
