Position Summary
- Report to Area Managing Director, North Asia
- Lead the medical affairs function by driving medical strategy for greatest patient impact
- Work with Commercial Teams to execute an aligned priority brand strategy for business goal
- Accountable for leading, developing, managing the Medical Affairs team, fosters innovation, high performance and an inclusive culture
[Main responsibilities]
- Provide strategic direction to the further development and commercial activities for priority brands in close collaboration with internal stakeholders for the life cycle planning and brand value optimization
- Excellence in execution by field based Medical team by active engaging & meeting customer’s needs and become their scientific partner of choice
- Drive medical strategy through insight generation and scientific engagement driven by advanced analytics and digital solutions and strengthened external partnerships
- Build future-oriented capabilities in new diseases and technologies (e.g. cell and gene therapy, vaccines, rare diseases, early asset development, data science, etc.)
- Provide leadership, scientific input and guide the development of key medical affairs deliverables (eg. medical platform, training modules, advisory boards, local and global scientific symposia)
- Provide scientific support and medical affairs task related guidance to local affiliates specifically in executing on agreed pre-launch and launch plans.
- Excel in scientific leadership as a valued partner through best-in-class scientific leadership, research and medical education
- Partner with external stakeholders, academic institutions and professional societies for policy shaping & patient voices to advocate patient benefits, innovation value and scientific advance
- Accountable for leading, developing, managing Medical Affairs team, creating a great place to work that fosters innovation and high performance
- Efficiently manage budgets and resources, including budget planning for future activities in line with the organizational strategy.
- Be a JnJ Credo based leader with clear focus on ethical and compliant with business practices
[Qualifications]
- Demonstrated past leadership and accomplishment in all aspects of medical affairs activities
- A Doctor degree in equivalent disciplines, MD is preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience spanning medical affairs activities and medical/scientific and operational expertise specific to the indication area; including experience in the design, execution, and publication of clinical trials
- Strong understanding of the clinical development activities, global regulatory requirements and market access
- Ability to think strategically, critically analyze and synthesize complicated data and scientific information to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams, internal and external stakeholders in local, regional and global environment.
- Innovative, agile, and entrepreneurial thinking, accountability for growth and transformation and empower, develop, and motivate teams
- Strong business acumen, excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and prioritization skills with big picture orientation, Influencing presentation skill and advanced project management skills
- Fluent spoken and written English and Korean is critical
