The Role: We are looking for a talented professional to take on the role of
Product Application Specialist - Digital Power. In this role, you will be the go-to technical expert, driving pre-sales excellence by shaping customer solutions, influencing specifications, and delivering innovative Digital Power systems that power business growth and customer success.
What will you do?- Act as the technical and application expert for Digital Power in pre-sales engagements, driving technical specification, homologation, and demand generation for solutions including Protection Relays, Power Metering, Power Quality, Energy Management Systems, and related Digital Power offers. Position fit-for-purpose solutions to address customer requirements and build a quality pipeline.
- Lead homologation, technical approvals, and compliance alignment for Protection Relays and Digital Power solutions with utility end users and relevant authorities.
- Drive technical specification influence and demand generation activities in close collaboration with front-end sales teams across critical and non-critical segments, strengthening pipeline quality and conversion. Prepare technical proposals, system architectures, design justifications, and tender clarifications to support competitive submissions.
- Serve as the interface between local market requirements and global Line of Business (LoB), translating customer needs into actionable inputs and aligning with factory capabilities and roadmap.
- Develop and strengthen the Digital Power ecosystem (end users, consultants, contractors, panel builders, and key stakeholders) through technical expertise, influence, and value-based solution positioning.
- Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions to internal teams, partners, and customers to build competence and support demand generation.
- Provide advanced technical support (L2) to internal and external stakeholders, resolving complex application issues and supporting site activities when required.
- Collaborate proactively across functions to resolve customer technical challenges, ensuring strong customer confidence and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support opportunity qualification and pre-sales strategy development, working closely with sales teams and solution architects to maximize win rates.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality technical engagement across pursuit, proposal, and conversion phases.
- Adopt and deploy Global and East Asia Digital Energy value propositions, adapting them to Malaysia market requirements and customer applications.
- Collaborate with Application Center, solution architects, services teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver integrated and competitive Digital Power solutions.
What qualifications will make you successful?- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 5-8 years of relevant experience in protection relay solutions and control relay panels.
- Strong expertise in protection relays and electrical distribution systems; experience in digital power solutions is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in technical pre-sales, specification influence, tendering, and solution design.
- Good understanding of homologation processes, applicable standards, and compliance requirements, particularly with utilities and regulatory authorities.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into practical, fit-for-purpose technical solutions.
- Experience engaging with utilities, consultants, contractors, and end-users, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to conduct technical workshops and deliver compelling proposals.
- Capable of providing advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex applications.
- Customer-focused, with strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel; familiarity with the Malaysia market is an advantage.
