Purpose:
Johnson & Johnson’s Technology plays a critical role in enabling our company’s mission to blend science and innovation to improve health outcomes. By delivering secure, scalable, and intelligent digital solutions, J& J Technology empowers our business units—from pharmaceuticals to medical devices—to operate efficiently, innovate rapidly, and stay compliant in a complex global environment.
Within this ecosystem, the Technology Services (TS) organization ensures the reliability and performance of our foundational platforms, infrastructure, and enterprise applications. It provides the backbone for collaboration, data management, cybersecurity, and operational excellence across all regions.
To further strengthen our capabilities, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Solution Architect who can bridge business needs with technical strategies that span across our digital core and technical software engineering services.
This individual will act as a crucial bridge, partnering closely with the enterprise and solution architects embedded within our MedTech and Innovative Medicine CIO offices. The ideal candidate will possess a broad technical skill set, leadership acumen, and a deep, nuanced understanding of the diverse and dynamic technology landscapes across Asia Pacific. This role is essential to design scalable and compliant solutions tailored to local market requirements. Align architecture with global standards while enabling agility, support initiatives like GenAI, digital health platforms, and third-party integrations and ensure that technological investments deliver measurable business value.
You will be responsible for:
Enterprise Solution Design & Strategy:
Design and document robust, scalable, and secure solution architectures for shared enterprise platforms and services within the Technology Services' purview (e.g., cloud, network, end-user computing, software engineering platforms).
Develop, maintain, and drive the adoption of reference architectures, patterns, and technology standards for the digital core and technical engineering domains to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Ensure that solution designs effectively meet both functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
Strategic Collaboration & Partnership:
Serve as the primary architectural point of contact and thought leader within the Technology Services team for the APAC region.
Build and maintain strong, influential partnerships with the solution architects in the MedTech and Innovative Medicine CIO offices to ensure enterprise services meet sector-specific business needs.
Act as a trusted advisor, translating complex business requirements from the sectors into technical solutions that leverage shared enterprise capabilities.
Facilitate strategic alignment between central engineering teams and sector-focused IT teams to prevent redundant efforts and maximize technology investments.
APAC Technology Expertise & Guidance:
Provide expert guidance on the APAC technology landscape, including local regulations, data sovereignty laws, and dominant technology platforms, especially within China and Japan.
Evaluate and recommend region-specific technologies and vendors to address unique local market requirements, ensuring seamless integration with our global standards.
Analyze and articulate the risks and opportunities associated with the APAC technical ecosystem to influence and inform global technology strategy.
Technical Leadership & Governance:
Lead technical discussions and provide architectural oversight for complex, cross-functional projects in the APAC region.
Participate in and influence the Architecture Review Board (ARB) to review and approve significant solution designs, ensuring they align with enterprise architecture principles.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in cloud, data, and integration, and champion their adoption where they can deliver business value.
Mentor and guide engineering teams and other architects during the implementation phase to ensure adherence to the defined architecture and foster a culture of technical excellence.
Qualifications / Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree in a relevant field.
