Description:

The watchmaker is responsible for the following technical activities:

Workshop
  • Diagnostics of watches under repair or overhaul
  • Repair or overhaul of quartz & mechanical movements (automatic, manufacture & small complications) and clock movements, in accordance with watchmaking standards and the lead times set by Hermès Horloger
  • Battery change, quick service, bracelet/strap change and quick interventions
  • Polishing and buffing watch & clock exteriors (external parts)
  • Final checks (functional and aesthetic) on watches and clocks under repair or overhaul, in accordance with Hermès quality standards

  • Stores

    The watchmaker will be responsible for stock watch maintenance, as per the requirements defined in the Hermès Horloger Customer Service Charter.

    Administrative tasks

    The watchmaker will also be responsible for the following administrative activities:
  • Drawing up quotes
  • Recording and tracking repairs via Hermès Care
  • Contributing to good components stock management

  • Support

    The watchmaker advises the sales personnel in the Stores and the Hermès Horloger sales team on all technical issues or issues relating to Customer watch repairs and maintenance.

    Profile
    • Advanced Watchmaking-Repair training or Wostep training
    • At least 3 years' successful experience working as an After-Sales Watchmaker
    • Solid experience in repair and maintenance of basic mechanical movements such as:
      • ETA 2892
      • ETA 2000
      • Sellita SW300
    • Experience in repair and maintenance of mechanical movements with small complications would be an asset:
      • Chronograph (ETA 7750 or 2894)
      • Moon phase
      • Extra-thin movement
      • Large Hour
      • GMT
      • Skeleton
    • Able to handle a minimum number of operations per week:
      • 120 quick services (battery changes) on quartz watches or
      • 20 overhauls on quartz watches or
      • 15 overhauls on simple automatic mechanical watches (example: ETA 2892) or
      • 10 overhauls on automatic chronograph mechanical watches (example: ETA 7750 or 2894) or
      • An equivalent mixture of operations
    • Conscientious, flexible and versatile
    • Meticulous and accurate in their work
    • Good organisational skills, to meet the set lead times
    • Excellent analytical and deductive skills, ability to find solutions
    • Self-reliant but also enjoying teamwork
    • Acutely aware of Customer Service, where complete customer satisfaction is the main objective.
    • Good oral and written English
    • Good knowledge of the standard IT tools (MS Office)
